When you have a lot of things to do, staying healthy might be the least of your concern. When you’re in between hanging out with friends, work, and errands, it’s easy to lose track of your well-being. But what if we told you that there are ways to keep yourself healthy even if you’re feeling lazy?
Okay, hear us out for a minute! We understand how difficult it is to wake up in the wee hours just to exercise and cooking healthy meals can be time-consuming. However, with simple choices, there are ways to do it!
Lazy Ways to Be Healthy
The following is your lazy guide to staying healthy when you don’t know where to start!
1. Opt for Cold Non-Caffeinated Beverages
One way to feel healthy is by hydrating yourself, especially in the summer season. Often, when you feel tired, it’s because your brain is dry and in need of fluids. A good way to resolve that is by drinking cold diluted juice or water throughout the day. Always limit your sugar intake when it comes to drinking juice because it may have an adverse effect on the body.
2. Snack on a Handful of Nuts
Nuts should not be in substitution for a healthy meal, but they can suppress your hunger. So, snack on some nuts if you’re getting ready to cook a meal. Why? Because a handful will prevent you from binging on unhealthy alternatives. One nut you should try is walnuts because they help raise good cholesterol which gives you a good kick when you’re feeling lethargic.
3. Easy Access to Snacks
Everyone likes to snack here and there which is why the vending machine exists! Still, you want to avoid the walk there because you want better options for your body. We suggest stashing small snacks that are readily available on hand! Always make a habit of doing this, and create a snack list to prevent redundancy.
4. Set Notes Around the Home
Whether you want to post motivational sayings, phrases or simple reminders– Keep yourself in check by adding notes around the home. Sometimes, people need a little reminder to be healthy, and this is okay! A simple note like, “drink water” could go a long way.
5. Freezer Meals are Better Than Fast Food
Meal planning goes a long way, especially when you want a healthier lifestyle. We get it, some days you just don’t want to cook after a long day of work. When you’re feeling this way, it’s best to plan pre-made meals that you can quickly put in the microwave. So make an effort to cook a little bit more on Sundays to get yourself ready for the whole week.
6. Try Pre-Cut Vegetables
For the extra lazy person in you, try pre-cut vegetables. You can easily find these at the grocery store, and they tremendously cut your cooking time by a lot. In many stores, they have an aisle that’s dedicated to just pre-cut vegetables such as broccoli, mushrooms, squash, carrots, and more.
Living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. With the Lazy Guide to Being Healthy, you can develop healthier habits with minimal effort. Start with small changes and take your time to transition into a new way of life. Choose the tips that work best for you, and don’t forget to find activities that you enjoy doing so you can stick with them. Most importantly, remember that it’s ok if you have off days – don’t get discouraged!
